Summer Reading List
In case anyone wants to join a digital book club… Here is my reading list for this summer. The inspiration behind most of the titles is they are books that I didn’t fall in love with as a child, so as a Young Adult I am diving in! Better late then never!
- “Don’t Waste Your Life” by John Piper [Because my Pastor recommended it, and the title is very catchy]
- “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins [Then watch the movie]
- “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” then all of “The Chronicles of Narnia” by C.S. Lewis [Then watch the movies]
- “Harry Potter…” All of them, hence the dot-dot-dot. [Then watch the movies and actually understand what is happening]
- “A Series of Unfortunate Events” by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) [Then, you guessed it, watch the movie]
- “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien [My first attempt was in high school, when I hated reading, so I’m giving it another go. Also, it’s being made into a movie, so I want to read the book before it comes out!]
- And then if I get to before summer is over… “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald [This is in anticipation of the movie coming this Christmas. In the meantime, I will watch “Midnight in Paris” when I finish the book. I know they’re nothing alike, but at least Fitzgerald is a character in it!]
Cheers to being a bookworm!
Yours,
Carrie
